Introduction

A company like Minus 417 Cosmetics is founded on uncompromising ethics, integrity, equality, and trust. When doing business with Minus 417, we expect our suppliers to respect our company values and our commitment to operating as a responsible and sustainable company and to fully comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct.

With our suppliers and all of our relationships, we are committed to abiding by the law, promoting ethical business practices, respecting people, the environment, and becoming a positive influence in our communities.

As part of our commitment to operating responsibly and ethically, we aim to develop long-term, trusting and mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers.

We believe in and adhere to:

  • Participate in ethical and lawful business practices
  • Promote a respectful and fair workplace
  • Provide a safe, healthy workplace and protect the environment and community as well

 

SUPPLIER CODE:

It is Minus 417’s policy to adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and to not engage in any form of bribery or corruption, either directly or indirectly. Minus 417 Suppliers are expected to promote anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance in their organizations by developing their own standards. These standards should facilitate legal compliance.

If we determine a Minus 417 Supplier is not in compliance, then the remedies may include, among other things, termination of business with Minus 417 or development and implementation of a corrective action plan that must be implemented within a certain fixed time frame. Minus 417 may follow such implementation with a follow-up audit, as it deems appropriate.

The Supplier Code represents a commitment to contribute to society and the environment for the benefit of current and future generations by conducting business in accordance with it.

 

  1. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

Supplier shall at all times operate in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.

 

  1. WORKER HEALTH AND SAFETY

Keeping the public, employees, and suppliers safe is Minus 417’s top priority. Safety and health are essential requirements at Minus 417.

All workers have the right to refuse and report unsafe or unhealthy working conditions regardless of their role, title or responsibility if the following conditions are met:

  1. Employer was informed to eliminate the danger, and the employer failed to do so
  2. Refusal to work in ‘good faith’. Meaning, a worker must genuinely believe that an imminent danger exists or that there is a danger of death or serious injury
  3. Workers are trained to know the appropriate occupational health and safety policies and procedures, including emergency evacuation procedures on a regular basis in the primary language(s) of its workers.
  4. Workers are provided appropriate protective equipment and instructed on appropriate use.
  5. Drinkable water is provided to all workers as well as adequate and clean sanitation facilities for all workers
  6. Unreasonable restrictions to workers’ access to toilets, rest or lactation breaks are forbidden.
  7. Suppliers shall identify potential emergency situations and events associated with the work or workplace to be carried out on behalf of Minus 417 and minimize potential impacts by implementing the following emergency plans and response procedures, where applicable: response equipment and PPE, emergency response reporting, workforce/public notification and evacuation procedures, emergency response training and drills, appropriate fire/emergency detection, adequate exit or escape paths and recovery plans.
  8. Weapons shall not be brought onto, carried, stored or used on Minus 417 leased or rented property, or in a Minus 417-owned leased or rented vehicle, in a personal vehicle while on Minus 417 business, whether performing Minus 417 work or not. A “weapon” is a firearm, ammunition, explosive, or any other device or object that could be construed as a weapon. Weapons do not include tools that are used for legitimate business purposes.

 

  1. LABOR

Supplier shall uphold the human rights of workers and treat them with dignity and respect

  1. Supplier shall only employ or engage workers who meet the applicable minimum legal age requirement, except that in no event shall Supplier employ any person under the age of 16, even if local Laws permit otherwise. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Supplier may allow individuals aged 15 or older to work as part of an apprentice program or as part of enrollment in an educational institution.
  2. Supplier shall set working hours, wages and overtime pay in compliance with all applicable Laws. Workers shall be paid at least the minimum wage or a wage that meets local industry standards, whichever is greater.

 

  1. ANTI-CORRUPTION

Minus 417 is committed to complying with all anti-corruption Laws that prohibit bribes, kickbacks, or other corrupt actions to obtain any improper advantage or obtain or retain business.

  1. Supplier shall not directly or indirectly solicit, receive or offer any form of bribe, kickback, or other corrupt payment, to or from any person or organization, including but not limited to government agencies or officials, companies or Personnel of those companies.
  2. When doing business with or conducting business on behalf of Minus 417, Supplier may, for legitimate business purposes: offer gifts or entertainment or accept gifts or entertainment offered by suppliers, customers or other business associates; provided, however, that in each instance the gift or entertainment:
  3. is unwanted;
  4. is not unlawful or in violation of this Code;
  5. is not a bribe, kickback or other unlawful payment;
  6. would not humiliate Minus 417 if revealed publicly;
  7. does not create the appearance that the gift giver is entitled to preferential treatment, an award of business, better prices or improved terms of sale.

 

  1. NON-DISCRIMINATION

Minus 417 does not tolerate any form of discrimination in the workplace. We are committed to diversity and inclusion in the work environment.

  1. Discrimination that is based on the grounds of an individual’s race; color; gender; age; national origin; religion; citizenship status; political opinion; marital status; sexual orientation; gender identity; transgender status; physical or mental disability; genetic information; pregnancy (including childbirth and related medical conditions) goes against Minus 417’s values and is strictly prohibited.
  2. Hiring and employment decisions, including those relating to payment, benefits, promotion, training and development, discipline, and termination are based solely on the worker’s skill, ability, experience and performance.

 

  1. HARASSMENT

Minus 417 does not tolerate any form of unequal treatment in the workplace.

  1. All workers will be treated with dignity and respect and will not be subjected to any form of unethical treatment, threats of violence, or other forms of physical, mental, or sexual harassment. This includes behavior, comments, jokes, slurs, email messages, pictures, photographs, or other conduct that contributes to an intimidating or offensive environment such as bullying regardless of the other person’s willingness to participate.
  2. Acts or threats of physical violence, intimidation, harassment or coercion, stalking, sabotage, or similar activities shall not be tolerated by Supplier. Engaging in acts or threats of violence will result in termination of the offending worker and may result in termination of Supplier’s assignment with Minus 417.

 

  1. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING SYSTEMS

Minus 417 is committed to reducing our environmental impact and support sustainable operational production practices. We work with our Suppliers who are critical partners in our efforts to sustainably source our raw material, packaging materials and other goods and services in a way that will help reduce our global impact.

  1. Operations fully comply with all federal laws and regulations including those related to waste disposal, hazardous waste, wastewater and toxic substances.
  2. All required environmental permits are obtained, maintained and kept current and any operational, registration and reporting requirements shall be followed.

 

  1. ANIMAL WELFARE

Alternatives to animal testing shall be used whenever possible. Tests shall be conducted only in accordance with all applicable laws.

 

  1. CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY INFORMATION

Minus 417’s confidential and branded information must be protected by Suppliers and act to prevent its misuse, theft, fraud, or improper disclosure. Suppliers must take all due care in handling, discussing, or transmitting confidential information that could affect Minus 417, its employees, its clients, the business community, or the general public. This includes trademarks, patents, copyrights and other proprietary works. Supplier must only use such intellectual property for the purposes authorized in a contractual agreement.

 

  1. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

Suppliers are expected to report to Minus 417 any situation that may appear as a conflict of interest, and disclose to Minus 417 if any associate or professional under contract with Minus 417 may have an interest of any kind in supplier’s business or economic ties with the Supplier.
